My previous word choice, “transvestite,” reminds me of sometimes tragic people who are cruelly treated and often become homeless because of their non-conformity to cultural norms. Children can be particularly cruel – mocking and jesting. I meant to poke fun at myself, not anybody else. I am sorry for that word choice.
So, to be clearer, I am happy to have found a home among the gender-confused people of the modern world. But, words can be tricky. I must explore whether “confusion” means what I believe it means to avoid being misunderstood.
The root word “con” I remember from ninth grade English is related to com meaning “together.” “Fuse” is to melt or blend. So, confusion means in one sense a blending of two things. Rigid thinking about gender are tested when we understand that human beings possess both male and female hormones in differing levels. And, those are bound to get bungled like any other human system we possess.
To be fair to those of us who do not fit neatly into a “Stepford Wives” reality, people are essentially human beings first– so inherently valuable. Characteristics that we possess – including an infinitely complex array of traits that may or may not be gender-related – is what makes us special.
To continue our word examination: “con” also means to con somebody, so to deliberately create confusion for the purpose of exploitation. Fuse is a means of igniting explosives. This is what we typically mean by our subject word: chaos and disorder: Danger!
Is there a plan to deliberately create confusion between the sexes? To make males and females or the in betweeners feel self-conscious about themselves, have difficulty relating to others, and question their value? That exposes a vast and calculated plan of social dissolution similar to that of Carl Marx’s. (Talk about human systems going awry.)
If I con-fuse or blend all definitions of our subject word into one, it may be accurate to say confusion is mixing things together -that may or may not be related- creating disorder, chaos, even danger. Possibly for the purpose of exploitation.
So, I am just going to be myself, and wear my orange. And maybe my hardhat, too.
